Understanding all FBA fees is essential to avoid selling at a loss. Here is the complete map.
1. The referral fee
A percentage of the selling price that varies by category (often 8 to 15%). This is the main fee.
2. FBA fulfillment fees
Charged per unit, based on size and weight. A small, light product costs little; a bulky one can eat up the entire margin.
3. Storage fees
- Monthly storage (per m³), higher at the end of the year.
- Long-term storage for unsold stock older than 6-12 months.
4. Returns fees
In some categories, returns that are free for the customer are charged to the seller.
5. Hidden fees not to forget
- Customer refund (processing) fees
- Disposal / removal order fees
- Labeling fees if the stock isn't prepped
- Advertising (PPC) costs if you run ads
How to include them in your calculation
A product that is profitable "on paper" can end up losing money once long-term storage and returns are taken into account. The rule: simulate the total cost before buying. Analyzer+ applies the fee schedule by size/weight/country for an accurate estimate.
